This week is a bit of an academic departure into political theory and the "ideological origins of political struggles," as Thomas Sowell puts it. There are two general "visions" of human nature, and therefore two different basic philosophies of politics. This is a very old debate in political theory that goes back at least to the Greeks, but no one until now has actually had a definitive answer for "what people are really like." Now that we do, we really need to stop lying to ourselves about it.
